Halifax Initiative Coalition: Chilean Representatives to Canada
The Halifax Initiative Coalition organized a visit to Canada for two Chilean representatives from communities affected by the Pascua Lama mining project in the Andean region.
Union Women fighting privatization in Southern Africa
In April 2006, the PSAC Social Justice Fund approved CAD $1,000 to support Sara Williamson's visit with public sector unions in Angola and South Africa. Sarah learned a great deal about how privatization affects women in the public service.

Production of a short video contrasting the Canadian media and public response to the HIV/AIDS pandemic and tsunami relief. The production is co-funded by the CLC and its affiliates.

World Social Forum – Caracas, Venezuela
The SJF provided $1000 to Roberto Miranda to participate in the World Social Forum for the Americas held in Caracas from Jan. 23 to 30. Roberto attended meetings as part of a larger delegation of Canadian trade unionists organized by the CLC and affiliates (CAW, USWA, CUPW, CEP, CUPE among others). Roberto also participated in the Labour Forum and other meetings organized by Common Frontiers on the issue of Free Trade in the Americas.
Ottawa-Colombia Sisters in Solidarity (OCSS)
The SJF is contributing $3,000 towards the Ottawa-Colombia Sisters in Solidarity (OCSS), a group of trade union women from the National Capital Region who are working towards social and economic justice and the protection of human rights in Colombia. The contribution will go towards building relationships with Colombian trade unionists and sharing information and strategies to better understand our common struggles, and developing a public education campaign to highlight the situation of Colombian women in the workplace, in their union and in their community. The committee is sponsoring 2 women trade unionists, members of ANTOCH, the Health Workers Union who were forced to flee Colombia with their families and seek refugee status in Canada.
Mining the Connections Campaign
The SJF supported the Mining the Connections Campaign launched by the Atlantic Regional Solidarity Network (ARSN).
